GSL PORSCHE BS910

The GSL-Porsche is apparently a solo effort that  first appeared at the Nürburgring 1000km, on 9 May 1974. Little is known about this car except that it used a Porsche engine. The car was entered and driven by the Swiss Bernd Seidler (team mate: Reichle). They did not get qualified for the race.
Seidler raced in the 1972 interserie with a McLaren M8E.
Seidler would race the car further in the interserie 1974 and 1975 (Mainz-Finthen race). The GSL was entered as the GSL BS910 (BS – Bernd Seidler). The 910 is said to refer to the engine, which is from the 910 Porsche. The car appears to have been yellow with grey arrows. The bodywork may well be of a type created by KMW, who were providing many bodies in this era for owners to attach to the chassis of their choice.

The McLaren M1C was the final development of the M1 and total of 25 M1C’s were produced with most of the cars ending up in the USA or Canada for the CanAm challenge.

Chassis 40/04 is the only McLaren M1 to be fitted with a Ford engine, it remained in the UK initially purchased by John Woolfe who shortly sold the car to Alistair Cowin. The car then changed hands again, long time racer John Jordan entering over 20 races with the car in 1971 before selling her to ex motor cycle racer Malcolm Clube. Clube owned 40/04 for 12 years entering a wide selection of events including the Interserie and winning over 40 races.

The car 40/04 was sold to Nick Overall in 1983 and in 1988 to Kristo? Schausberger, 1998 to David Clark, 2001 to Graham Galliers, 2006 to Richard Dodkins and then changed owner again in 2009. In 2013 the car was purchased by its current owner, Mr Timo Schiebner who restored and maintained the vehicle to the excellent condition we see today. Finished in beautiful Mclaren Papaya orange.
