Ford GT40 chassis 101, 102

CHASSIS 101

This chassis was used by FAV to make its press debut April 1, 1964 at the 1964 New York Auto Show. The car was than taken to Le Mans for testing with Jo Schlesser behind the wheel. Unfortunaly, the car was destroyed on the Hunaudieres Straight.

CHASSIS 102

The car made his debute at the 1000 km Nurburging 1964 with drivers Ph.Hill and B.McLaren (#140). They retired after 15 laps with a suspension failure. During the 24 hours of Le Mans (#10), the car clocked the fastest lap with Phill Hill with a time of  3.49.2 ( 211,429 km/h). In the 14th hour, the gearbox failed. The car did also the 12 hours of Reims again with Hill and B.McLaren. Later, during a test in Monza the 102 was destroyed (J.Whitmore at the wheel).
