F1 in 1982. The conclusion

04/07/2024 - Keke Rosberg driving the Williams FW08 Cosworth won only one race in 1982. It was obvious however that this car had a great chassis/aero package. World champion ! Ferrari won the constructors championship. In the 1982 F1 season, there were 11 different winners !

31/05/2024 - The 1982 Canadian Grand Prix was the eighth formula 1 race of the 1982 Formula One World Championship. The race was won by Nelson Piquet, driving a Brabham-BMW. It was the first victory for a BMW-engined car, but the only victory of the season. The race started with a crash where Ricardo Paletti, Osella,was killed.

23/03/2024 - Everything happened in the last 3 laps of the 1982 Monaco GP. Alain Prost (Renault) was heading for victory, when he spun on lap 74. Patese got the lead, but spun also. Then came Pironi (Ferrari) in the lead; he had to stop. Then was De Cesaris(Alfa) first, but he ran out of fuel. Then there was Daly(Williams), but his gearbox failed. So Ricardo Patrese in the Brabham BT49 scored his first win in Monaco

20/03/2024 - Scuderia Ferrari had two stars in the house for the 1982 F1 season. It was definitely the year that either Gilles Villeneuve or Didier Pironi were supposed to be world champion in the Ferrrai 162C2. After a debatable win for Pironi in Imola, Villeneuve had a fatal accident in Zolder. But Pironi had a career-ending crash in Hockenheim.

18/03/2024 - Ferrari made an attempt to exploit a loophole in the 1982 Formula 1 regulations and fit two rear wings to the back of their 126C2 for the United States Grand Prix West at Long Beach. This was only the third race of the season!

Mouton and Audi had won the event in their class in 1984 with her WRC co-driver Fabrizia Pons sitting alongside. But this second attempt in 1985 was Mouton toute seule. And an overall victory!

Unfortunally, In 1974 the organisation was declared bankrupt, so Bernie Ecclestone took over, provided the money and promoted the show. It became a rather boring race with 31 F1 cars at the start. 12/02/2023 - Belgian driver Jacky Ickx has a total of 6 victories in the endurance 24 hours Le Mans race. His most beautiful and rewarding win was the race in 1977 (his own words) with a Porsche 936.
