This year Interserie took another step forward. There was the fact that Porsche made it clear that they will support the races, either with factory cars or customer support, and would use the early events as a test programme for their Can-Am program.
Nine races were on the calendar; five in Germany (2 x Nürburgring, 2x Hockenheim, Norisring), Imola, Silverstone, Zeltweg and again a race at Keimola.

Michel Dupont Chevron B19-Ford (A. Wicky Racing)
Swiss driver Michel Dupont drove a B16 in 1971 until a crash at Imola. He reappeared at the Nürburgring 500 km in September with a B19 of unknown origin and continued to run this car through 1972, including sharing it at Le Mans with Pierre Bodin and Pierre Blancpain as B19/21. Dupont continued to drive a Chevron sports car until the end of the 1974 season. It was described as a B21 at Imola 17 Sep 1972, a B23 in 1973, a B23/26 in 1974, a B26 on two occasions and then back to a B23 at the end of 1974.
Jörg Zaborowski Chevron B19- Ford 71-03
The car was originally owned by Richard Shardlow. He entered in the 1971 BARC 1000 with co-driver Terry Croker, but did not start. Shardlow decided not to continue with the car and it was returned to the factory and sold to Heinz Derflinger to drive in European 2-litre Championship 1971. The B19 was sold early 1972 to Jörg Zaborowski for Interserie and other sports car races 1972. He crashed at ADAC Bergrennen Teutoburger Wald on 29 April 1973 and Zaborowski advises that it was "totally destroyed".
Zaborowski continued racing in 1973 and 1974 with a Chevron B21 that he advises was built locally, not at Bolton. The fate of this German-built B21 is not known.
According to Zaborowski, the chassis plate from B19-71-3 was put onto a new rolling chassis built by Vin Malkie in 1993. See 'the 1993 Zaborowski car'.
